difficulty spike on the last level is INSANE, rocks barely work and the layout lets cobb camp batteries, additionally if cobb chases you there's very limited options other than praying his AI bugged, got chased for 5 MINUTES, threw 8 rocks and still it feels unfair

Heya! I actually feel like the issue is the rest of the game, not the ending :/ people who closely learned how cobb’s AI worked don’t have much trouble with it at all, but I feel like I didn’t do a good enough job of making the game encourage you to learn, and it lets people win even if they don’t understand the rules and how to manipulate cobb’s position.
Anyways, some tips:
try moving the candles to create large dark areas, this helps you lose cobb much easier when he can see.
also include some grass patches in the dark areas, since footsteps make no noise on grass.
try and listen to where cobb is on the map and plan your route accordingly. if you’re good enough at this, you might be able to do the whole ending without even being noticed.
you don’t have to put in the batteries right away, you can wait and avoid having to create a ton of noise!
I am a fan of horror games, though rarely do I find myself playing said games due to... well, being too scared. This game however was an amazing experience. The tension and atmosphere itself was scary, Cobb's design too! Yet, the challenges given were able to make me more determined to continue with the game rather than giving up the moment Cobb got too close. The jumpscare wasn't too scary but it wasn't bad either. Very good game, love the replayability of it. It's also nice that the rules change up even if you're doing the same level!
There should be a mode where you can pick Cobb’s modifiers and mechanics—like picking up batteries or giving him a sense or something—and a mode that has all modifiers, aka “Hell Mode.”
And online/local multiplayer would be cool, just sayin’.
And imagine if they could also wear cosmetics you unlock from Endless mode or by beating the game.

If it’s of any encouragement, I have never seen someone actually get scared by the jumpscare. Most people find the tension and getting chased scarier :P
When I tell you that I had so much fun playing this I had to upload it to Youtube. And the fact this was only made in one week just completely blew my mind. This would be amazing with friends too. just a thought....
